Has your church had its temperature taken lately?  Are you feverishly
trying to keep up with all your ministry demands?  Or maintaining the
traditions with such well-practiced coolness that you might be growing
cold?  Natural Church Development, which by now has been utilized in over 35,000 congregations in 60 countries, is an effective tool to show you how you are doing in the following eight "quality characteristics:"

- Empowering Leadership
- Gift-oriented Ministry
- Passionate Spirituality
- Functional Structures
- Inspiring Worship Service
- Holistic Small Groups
- Need-oriented Evangelism
- Loving Relationships.

Natural Church Development can also help you find the right prescriptions to help your church increase in good health.  For after you have taken the survey and received the results, you are encouraged to concentrate on improvement in the area of your lowest score.  Natural Church Development has a plethora of materials designed to assist you in doing it.  It is recommended that a year or two later you take the survey again and go to work once more on whatever area has the lowest score this time.  Doing it several times over during the decade to come will help your church become all it can  be.  With faithful planting and watering God will give the increase.  E-mail Stan Vander Klay or, call him @ (508-234-1619) if you are interested.

Sonship and Gospel Transformation

Are you generally doing OK in life and in relationships, but feeling like maybe there is more? Has life become a treadmill squeezing out time for reflection and connection with God?
Would you like to experience a growing ability to love and forgive people in your life?
Would you like someone who has wisdom and experience to coach you for a season as you seek to grow closer to the Lord?

Many of us understand the faith intellectually, but our hearts have not quite kept up with our heads. Read More...  (By Drew Angus)

DEACONS' CORNER

"Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom.  We will turn this responsibility over to them" (Acts 6:3)

The office of deacon is quickly expanding to finally encompass all God intended when the apostles realized they needed to break up the work into manageable pieces.  They came to realize all were gifted differently in order to have complete ministry to the whole person.

It is vital that candidates for deacons be gifted with a heart for the poor as well as a concern for careful stewardship of resources.  Deacons should also facilitate the involvement of congregation members into outreach ministry.

The Classical Ministries Team is ready to assist the deacons of CANE with training or evaluating the work of your deaconate.  Email Nancy Rondeau, Diaconal Ministries Coordinate,
or call (860) 749-9213
